H.E. Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows:
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 1:41 p.m., the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia continued coordinating a delegation of foreign military attachés to inspect the Boeung Trakuan Pass area and the unexploded ordnance site in Thmar Puok District, Banteay Meanchey Province. The area was heavily attacked by the Thai military in December 2025, resulting in the destruction of houses, civilian shops, and public infrastructure. Barbed wire was laid, and containers were illegally installed and occupied by the Thai military. The delegation also examined the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, which came into effect on December 27, 2025.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia would like to express their firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully and steadfastly respect and implement the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC), dated December 27, 2025; the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, dated October 26, 2025; and other relevant agreements, in order to swiftly improve the situation and restore normalcy, peace, stability, and long-term security along the border of both countries.
The public, as well as national and international journalists, are hereby informed of the facts regarding this matter.
